SQUADRON HISTORY: |
|
|
| |
|
Our squadron began holding meetings in October
2006. At that time we were an Airplane Club. Two of our future
cadets went on their airplane rides in a Cessna aircraft in November.
December saw five of our students marching in the Huron Christmas Parade.
We were chartered on 22 February 2007 by the Civil Air Patrol and we became the
first School Enrichment Program (SEP) unit in California Wing. Since then
we have been very active, from Rocket Days to providing aircraft security in
Porterville. Pictures of our activities can be seen on our photo
page.

Patch History:
|
|
|
| |
 |
|
First Design: This design incorporated the
school colors of burgundy, black, and white. The squadron number is at the
top. The older style propeller was chosen to link the unit with CAP's roots.
The pentagon shape was chosen as it was unique among CAP patches.

First Approved Design: This patch rounded the top of
the pentagon. It resembled the California Sheriff's patches. It incorporated a
modern propeller design.

Current Approved Design: This design incorporates books
and a lamp, which are indicative of learning and education. The patch now
resembles most squadron patches in shape. It retains the burgundy school color
and the unit number at the top.
